About the Malibu Dude Ranch
Malibu Dude Ranch is located in the scenic Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania in beautiful Pike County just a short 3-mile drive from Milford. The 800-acre ranch offers something for all ages. Come and enjoy an Old West cowboy style vacation and plenty of horseback rides with our wranglers on scenic mountain trails in a mature forest.
Our all-inclusive packages by the day, overnight, weekend or weekly allow you to just park your vehicle and begin to enjoy all the amenities and meals throughout your stay.
Malibu Ranch is an ideal location for family vacations, reunions, and anniversaries. It is also a venue for weddings and honeymoons, corporate events, school class trips, church or club activities, and place for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to earn merit badges. Ask about our group rates.
The rustic main lodge features western décor with guest rooms on second level. The main floor houses a dining hall, indoor heated swimming pool, game room with air hockey and a pool table, western gift shop, and saloon with entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
Additional accommodations are private cabins among the trees, boat house on the lake, and chalet and motel style rooms near the main lodge. History buffs might have interest in seeing and photographing a two-story stone structure built in the 1700s overlooking the lake during a period of Native American conflict. Altogether, the ranch can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Ride our horses by the hour, take lessons, or bring your own and board your horse here. You could get a glimpse of wildlife along the trails. Native to this area are fox, coyote, bobcat, white-tailed deer, black bear, groundhogs, woodchucks, chipmunks, red and gray squirrels, flying squirrels active at nighttime, raccoon, rabbits, otter or beaver along a stream, Bald Eagle, ruffed grouse, woodcock, hawks and numerous bird species. In mid-June, enjoy the pink Mountain Laurel in full bloom throughout our forests. The General Assembly enacted it as our Pennsylvania State Flower on May 5, 1933.
Challenge yourself on the tennis or basketball court. Take a rowboat out on the lake or go fishing with your own rod and equipment, or relax on the veranda overlooking the lake and enjoy beautiful sunsets reflected over the water. Take-in the mountain fresh air and fragrant pines while watching horses graze in the pasture. For a quiet indoor activity, ask at the registration desk for board games, or watch cable television on a flat screen in the great room. Star gazing in a clear night sky is another great pastime. Enjoy a Saturday night bonfire and hayride.
Celebrate your child's birthday with a party that includes use of the indoor pool and pony ride. Western Adventure horse camp for eight-year-olds and up teaches about the lifestyle of the Old West and how to care for animals followed by a trail ride.
A mechanical bull popular with kids and adults alike is brought in occasionally. The operator runs it according to your age and skill level. Cushioned padding provides a soft landing if someone loses grip.
Shoot skeet or archery on the rifle range. The ranch also offers a hunter package the first three days of the deer rifle season. Bring your ATV or snowmobile to ride the trails, or ice skates to enjoy the frozen lake.
There is a little bit of cowboy and cowgirl in everyone! So, come join us for an authentic ranch experience!
